Tallmadge Branch Library is accessible from:
Downtown Akron via Main Street north, turn right (east) on Tallmadge Avenue continuing to the Tallmadge Circle. Exit the Tallmadge Circle at Northeast Avenue (SR 261), turning right onto Community Road.* 
 State Route 8 at the Tallmadge Ave. exit. Eastward (left turn from the north, right turn from the south) on Tallmadge Avenue continuing to the Tallmadge Circle. Exit the Tallmadge Circle at Northeast Avenue (SR 261), turning right onto Community Road.*
Interstate 76 at the Gilchrist Rd. exit to Darrow Rd. (which becomes South Ave.), northward to the Tallmadge Circle. Exit the Tallmadge Circle at Northeast Avenue (SR 261), turning right onto Community Road.
You may also exit the Tallmadge Circle at East Avenue, turning left onto Community Road and passing a shopping area as you drive past the Community Center to the Library.
Prior to its new location, the Tallmadge Branch Library opened in a store front in 1961 and moved into a 8700 square foot building located at 32 South Avenue in 1977 in a building owned by the City of Tallmadge that was built for library purposes with funds from the City of Tallmadge income tax at a cost of $332,102.
On October 2, 2000 the current Tallmadge Branch Library opened at 90 Community Rd. next to the Tallmadge Community Center. We are open 6 days a week to meet your needs for education, information and recreation. Current library statistics show that the Tallmadge Branch circulated 319,381 items in 2006, and houses a collection of 63,824 items.
Our friendly, skilled staff includes a branch manager, who is also the adult services librarian, two children's librarians who work on a job-share basis serving young children (babies through grade three), and one full-time children's librarian serving intermediate school age children and teens (grades 4-12). Our staff also includes public service assistants and student assistants.
