Note: Your library card must be active and in good standing to download materials.

To get started with Overdrive eMedia:

1. View the Overdrive tutorial video.
2. Download and install Overdrive Media Console, Adobe Digital Editions, or Sony Reader Library for your computer.
3. Activate Overdrive Media Console, Adobe Digital Editions, or Sony Reader Library on your computer.
4. Check out and download media to your computer from the Library's Overdrive Collection.
5. Install the appropriate software on your portable device.
6. Transfer the media to your portable device.

Return or remove E-books:

E-books automatically expire at the end of your loan period. You may also return e-books early using Adobe Digital Editions software.

Android

Android tablet and phone devices are not classified as e-book readers, however, they offer a number of e-book applications including an Overdrive Media Console to view EPUB e-books. Android devices also allow you to surf websites, write emails, view photos and watch videos. These devices have a touch screen and thousands of apps are available.

You can also use Android apps from Amazon, Borders, and Barnes and Noble to download e-books from these sources. Free e-books can also be found through Project Gutenberg..

iPad / iPhone / iPod Touch

There is as yet no native iPad application for Overdrive, however, you can install Overdrive Media Console to view EPUB e-books.
While the iPad is not classified as an eReader, you can download e-books to this device. The iPad also allows you to surf websites, write emails, view photos and watch videos. The device has a touch screen and thousands of apps are available.

You can also use iPad apps from Amazon, Borders, and Barnes and Noble to download e-books from these sources. Free e-books can also be found through Project Gutenberg.

Kobo

Kobo reader is compatible with EPUB and PDF e-books and MP3 Audiobooks on Overdrive. The most current version also allows you to connect to Wi-Fi hotspots. You’ll also have the ability to read your e-books on additional devices such as iPhone, Android and iPad

Nook
The Nook is compatible with EPUB and PDF e-books and MP3 Audiobooks on Overdrive. Barnes & Noble offers more than two million additional books for wireless download. You can also access Wi-Fi with this device.
