Hours: Full-Time (40 hours), not job-share eligible, works evenings and weekend hours as required
Salary: Grade 19, $35.81 hourly, Exempt
Performs a variety of system-wide administrative duties as related to the human resources function; directs the work of and supervises human resources staff; directs and participates in the recruitment, interviewing, selection, hiring, orienting, and promotion of Library staff; directs and participates in employee relations matters, including advising and coaching supervisory staff, counseling employees, conducting investigations, administering discipline, carrying out staff terminations and conducting exit interviews; directs and participates in the administration of the performance evaluation process; directs and participates in the administration of all employee benefit programs; oversees the staff training function; and other duties as required in the full job description.
Demonstrated knowledge of public sector human resources administration and of local, state, and federal laws pertaining to human resources management; excellent interpersonal skills; excellent problem-solving, conflict resolution, and mediation skills; excellent written and spoken communication skills; and demonstrated time-management skills required. A Bachelor’s degree in human resources or a related field from an accredited university and a minimum of 10 years of human resources experience required; OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and human resources experience may be considered. Possession of professional human resources certification (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, IPMA-CP, IPMA-SCP) preferred; public sector human resources experience strongly preferred.
