Available Resources
The Accessibility Library provides items available for check-out as well as support at all stages of planning. Through The Accessibility Library you can:
- Download checklists for indoor and outdoor events;
- Request support from partners in reviewing a site or venue and making recommendations on how to increase the enjoyment for all your guests;
- Watch videos geared toward supporting you and your team in using or even making some support gear; and
- Review a catalog of physical items that are available to borrow from partners.
The Accessibility Library is a strategy identified in the Akron/Summit Cultural Plan (2020) which originated with artist and advocate Alicia Hopkins. The thoughtful implementation of a process by which nonprofit community groups could access assistive technology and support items for events has been carried forward by the following organizations:
