Have you noticed that nearly all indoor theaters have reopened in the past few weeks?  A few, including drive-ins, have been opened for months. This means that new, major motion pictures that were originally scheduled for release months ago are now starting to coming out. Here is a selection of films currently playing in local theaters – new and old. Bill & Ted Face the Music

Cut Throat City

Action-thriller starring Shameik Moore and Wesley Snipes.  74% on R.T.

Mulan

Streaming on Disney+ with an additional fee.  Epic remake of the classic animated film.   Starring Liu Yifei, Donnie Yen, Jason Scott Lee, and Jet Li.  80% on R.T.

The New Mutants

Superhero/horror based on the Marvel Comics and the final installment of the X-Men film series.  Starring Maisie Williams and Anya Taylor Joy.  32% on R.T.

The Personal History of David Copperfield

Based on the classic novel by Charles Dickens.  Starring Dev Patel, Peter Capaldi, Hugh Laurie, and Tilda Swinton.  93% on R.T.

Tenet

At last!  Anticipated as one of the summer blockbusters – until the country close-down.  Larger-than-life sci-fi action film directed by Christopher Nolan (The Dark Knight trilogy, Dunkirk).  Starring John David Washington, Robert Pattison, and Kenneth Branagh.  Critics gave this 75% on Rotten Tomatoes.

Unhinged

Thriller starring Russell Crowe.  Critics weren’t crazy about it (48% on R.T.) but it has pretty popular with audiences.
