About the Division

Located on the 2nd floor of Main Library, the Culture & AV division offers a wide variety of entertainment options and cultural information.  Our collection includes thousands of print and AV materials.

Our division maintains a comprehensive collection in adult fiction in a variety of genres.  The library’s book collection includes romance, black fiction, mysteries, science fiction, and graphic novels.  We also have books on the arts, music, sports, and film.  Our Large Print books include fiction, nonfiction, and biographies.

The library’s in-depth collection of books on religion, language instruction, biographies, travel, crafts, games, and antiques and collectibles rounds out the collection.

An extensive collection of DVD’s and Blu-Rays cover the entire history of the movies, from silent and foreign classics to the latest box office hits.  We also have a substantial collection of TV Series and nonfiction titles covering a multitude of subjects.

A vast selection of CD’s, including classical, jazz, country, world music, and pop hits are a popular part of our services. Looking for an audio book? Browse our extensive selection of both fiction and non-fiction BOCDs and Playaways.

Unique to Culture & AV is our collection of Song Books/Sheet Music, Plays, VHS Videos, Books in Foreign Languages, Book Club To Go, and Akron Art Library.
