Our Special Collections Division houses the library’s collection of genealogy and local history materials. Our goal is to collect, preserve, and provide access to the history of Summit County, and to continue to maintain one of the area’s most extensive genealogy collections.

Affiliate Family History Center Status
For Akron-Summit County Public Library
 The Akron-Summit County Public Library is pleased to announce that it has attained Affiliate Library status with the Family History Center of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. This affiliate status allows ASCPL to borrow microfilm for library patrons directly from the Genealogical Society of Utah. Many resources held by the library in Salt Lake City have been microfilmed and are available for loan for a small fee. The holdings of the Family History Center Library may be searched via their website: www.familysearch.org.
